What is digital storytelling?



Digital storytelling is a combination of the art of the storytelling, with digital media, such as: pictures, sounds and videos. 

A digital story can have many forms but always from the perspective of a narrator. 
It is a combination of digital images, a voice-over that tells the story and music. 


A digital story does not need to take longer than 5 minutes and usually takes the form of a video, made in programs like 'Movie maker of iMovie'. Also in presentation programs such as PowerPoint, it is possible to make a digital story. 






What is Storytelling?



Storytelling is the social and cultural activity of sharing stories, often with improvisationtheatrics, or embellishment. Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation and instilling moral values. Crucial elements of stories and storytelling include plotcharacters and narrative point of view


The term 'storytelling' is used in a narrow sense to refer specifically to oral storytelling and also in a looser sense to refer to techniques used in other media to unfold or disclose the narrative of a story.
